League

All League and
Club joining packs will be issued early April.
Executive
Group
The new Structure will be supported by
a newly elected Executive Group, whose main role is to influence on issues that
will remove barriers for those Girls and Women wishing
to take part in football. The most
important of those will be the groups engagement with local authorities,
local education and the Football Foundation to access facilities and funding.
The Executive
Group is made up of the following:
Women
and Girls Advisory Group
The Executive
Group will be supported by the Women and Girls Advisory Group, which has
recently been re-constituted and has now appointed a chairperson for the next
12 months (Jackie Veal – Bury Sports Development Manager). The
Chairperson will also be represented on the Executive Group.
The Women and
Girls Advisory Group is an open forum for Clubs and Leagues to provide their
views and steer the Executive Group in any fundamental reviews or changes that
maybe required over the next five years.
Development
Centres
Fundamental to
the new structure will be our FlagShip Development
Centres. – These promise to be very exciting and will be a great opportunity
for all clubs to be part of.
The centres will cater for
structured provision at Under 10’s and also remove a couple of the most
daunting barriers a club faces when setting up girls provision.
1.) The recruitment of players
2.) The recruitment of female coaches
The
Development Centres will cater for the above and provide Clubs with the Player
and Workforce resource to grow the Girls and Women’s game within Greater
Manchester as well as helping to grow the number of female referees.
Now all
Clubs can offer a provision for Girls! – Helping you and your club attain
Development and Community Club Status
In summary,
the Development Centres will be where possible indoor provision and will be for
players aged Under 10. These will be open pay and play centres at a £1
per session and will all be affiliated and have paid coaching provision with
Level 2 coaches and Level 1 mentored female coaches. The sessions
will be focused around fun sessions followed by Mini-Soccer fair play
matches.
